Synopsis:
This poem teaches about the Mobius Strip, which is an interesting teaching aid invented by the Greeks ages ago. It has curious properties, and will help young folks visualize geometric things.

This strip of strange paper has but one side,
The other side cannot be found.
If you draw a straight line down its middle
You’ll find it’s entirely round.

You start at one spot, just like we were taught
And follow it through on its face.
You’ll glide all its length,
      whether blue, white or pink
‘til you come to that very same place.

What’s more, if you try to cut it in two,
By following that line you just drew,
When you are done, you’ll have only one,
So you can’t even cut it in two.

It really is strange when this strip you arrange,
But I’ll give you a marvelous tip.
Put half-twist in one end, hook it up end to end,
The result is a Mobius Strip.
